MobileFrame Enterprise Suite Piloted in San Jose
Department of Transportation
The first truly configurable mobile application to be piloted in 11th largest U.S. City.
SAN JOSE, CA-December 2, 2003--MobileFrame, LLC (www.mobileframe.com),
the leading provider of configurable mobile applications today announced a pilot with the
City of San Jose for use of its MobileFrame Enterprise SuiteTM,
a unique software platform that allows business users with no IT background to develop and deploy
complex mobile applications, enabling data collection and managed workflow to be seamlessly
integrated from the field to backend systems. The City Department of Transportation will pilot the
software to automate their inspector's field work.
MobileFrame's software allows changes to be made on-the-fly, so new workflow to workers in the
field can be changed and rolled out in minutes. With MobileFrame, customers can leverage one
single platform across many different departments with diverse needs. San Jose's Department
of Transportation field inspectors will pilot the software to automate current field-based
inspection processes, eliminating the need for manual data entry in their offices. MobileFrame
customers can connect to backend enterprise systems in real-time and capture rich data types
such as documents, photos, sound, bar code scans, etc., while in the field. MobileFrame's smart
architecture integrates intelligent networking with a thick client so the mobile worker always
has complete workflow available whether or not network connectivity is continuously available.
When the smart client senses wireless or wireline connectivity, the system automatically sends
and receives queued transactions, content and messages.
"San Jose always tries to stay on the cutting edge of technology," says Assistant City Manager
Mark Linder. "The City is always interested in innovative technology that allows our departments
to function more efficiently."
"Our MobileFrame software solution provides compelling value to any government agency," states
Lonny Oswalt, MobileFrame's CEO. "Our configurable mobile application offers cities valuable
automation efficiencies that also increase public service, all on a single user friendly
platform that can be leveraged across many different departments without programming or
expensive IT engagements. Now that's value."
