SC Johnson Quality Assurance Representatives visit SC Johnson's retail customer stores to randomly remove products from the store shelves and inspect the packaging and labeling of their products. The Inspectors scan the UPC barcode of each product, enter the manufacturer's date code and record any product defects on their HHP Dolphin 9500 mobile computers. They return to their local office at the end of the week and upload their data to a MobileFrame server located in the main SC Johnson business office. All of the data gathered in the field is exported to various Excel spreadsheets that track overall product quality. MobileFrame's ability to send alert messages and emergency service requests to the quality inspectors in the field provides SC Johnson a real-time interactive field inspection system.
