T.D. Williamson wanted a mobile application platform that would not require them to become an expert Windows Mobile development shop. MobileFrame’s solution made the purchase decision an easy one because everything needed for a successful mobile app deployment is built-in, including Remote Device Management, the Integration Wizard, the Screen Designer and the Project Deployment Manager.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s first priority was a mobile asset tracking application using RFID technology. TDW \u00a0has assets located in 10 locations around the world, so selecting a software provider that could scale in size was very important. The company selected Intermec CK3 handheld computers along with the Intermec IP30 RFID Readers, which both integrate seamlessly with the MobileFrame software.\u00a0 They plan to track all corporate assets, but one device they were particularly interested in tracking provides accurate detection and sizing of internal and external metal loss and other ferrous anomalies. Because these devices are very expensive, they needed to have real-time, accurate data about where the devices are at all times.\u00a0 The devices are installed at oil wells and pipelines, so assigning a job site to each one was the first step in the project. As the devices come back in from the field they inspect each one for quality control purposes, so they also needed an inspection app.<\/p>\n
