The MobileFrame Smart ArchitectureTM
consists of four integrated software modules: MobileFrame
Desktop, MobileFrame Database, MobileFrame Server and
MobileFrame Client. Together they allow novice
computer users to create and deploy sophisticated mobile
applications to workers without the need for professional IT
services. MobileFrame's Smart Architecture integrates intelligent networking
with a thick client so the mobile worker always has the applications and
data available whether or not network connectivity is continuously
available. When the smart client senses wireless or wired connectivity, the
system automatically sends and receives queued transactions, content, and
messages.
MobileFrame's software is built on the latest .NET, Web Services, and XML
standards. As a result, it is broadly compatible with existing application
servers, networks, and applications to leverage the performance, scalability,
and reliability of proven system software from companies like Microsoft,
Oracle, Sybase and Sun.

MobileFrame Desktop
The MobileFrame Desktop is a
graphical administration tool that enables business administrators and novice
computer users to create mobile applications, workflow, enterprise data, and
reporting for mobile workers by using intuitive point and click features. All
programming complexities are handled in the background so they are transparent
to the business users. Sophisticated mobile applications can be created and
deployed from a self-maintained library so changes to mobile applications can
be made on-the-fly. The MobileFrame Desktop also gives System
Administrators a full featured portal into the administration of their mobile
environment with features such as central management and monitoring of all
MobileFrame servers and Active Directory integration.
MobileFrame Server
The MobileFrame Server consists of multiple server components that
together manage the synchronization and security of the data to and from
the mobile devices, maintain and monitor the database for outside changes,
and process server-side workflow. It is installed on any Windows
2000/NT/XP/2003 computer that has a resident IIS application server. The
components of the MobileFrame Server can be distributed in any
permutation across multiple servers or can reside on a single server.
This allows for complete scalability and configurability as your business needs
grow.
MobileFrame Client
The MobileFrame Client is a .NET-based
software application that operates in a thick client mode enabling mobile
workers to perform their tasks whether or not network connectivity is
continuously available. Business rules, workflow and enterprise data are
assembled into Project and Task Libraries by business administrators using the
point and click features contained in the MobileFrame
Desktop and are deployed to the MobileFrame
Client by the MobileFrame Server whenever synchronization
takes place. The Client stores all of the deployed Project data in its
database enabling the mobile worker to perform all assigned tasks without
continuous connectivity to the back office. When wireless or wired access
becomes available, the system can automatically, manually, or by way of
workflow begin a synchronization operation to send and receive queued
transactions, system updates, and/or content. All synchronization is
performed in the background via industry standard secure protocols and is
compressed to ensure security while minimizing transmissions costs. The
MobileFrame Client supports a variety of rich data types
(photographs, graphics, sound, bar code scanners, GPS devices, digital
signatures, audio, and much more) and operates on any .NET enabled handheld
device, including Pocket PC PDA's, Tablet PC's or Laptops.
MobileFrame Database
The MobileFrame Database is a SQL
database featuring a data schema that permits business users to define workflow
and fully control user access to backend enterprise data through the
MobileFrame Desktop application. The MobileFrame
Database on the server side provides a review and staging area for
data that flows between mobile users and backend systems such as accounting,
ERP, CRM and SCM systems. The MobileFrame Database
on the handheld device is a repository for both the workflow and project data
created by the business administrator and the results data gathered by the
mobile worker in response to those assigned tasks.
